The Comb Hair Studio is a relatively new hair salon opened in April 2015.
Despite its prime location, The Comb Hair Studio exudes a very inviting, cozy vibe that puts one at ease. Behind the white minimalistic decor sprinkled with woody accents, lies the brainchild of the well-established Korean Creative Director, Ms Rina Kil. She leads her team of seven international senior hairstylists and several stylist assistants to co-create trendy hairdos for her clients, always promising of top notch service with their versatile skills.
My visit was during the peak period of pre-Chinese New Year celebrations, hence the salon was full-house and we had to start my hair-coloring service at the waiting area while waiting for an empty seat! However, the staff made me feel comfortable by offering me their drinks menu (that was part of the service menu). The latte was served with a candy and that speaks volumes of their thoughtful service.
My assigned hairstylist, Senior Stylist Ryan, hailed from Korea, and is the newest member onboard. Being friendly and efficient, he listened to my needs & concerns attentively and explained to me what could & couldn't be done. Our consultation was a quick one. Although my initial expectations of having my hair bleached & highlighted weren't met, Ryan's sincerity, positivity and bubbly-ness lightened me up and we ended up being the most chatty pair of stylist & client in the salon! Language can be a slight barrier since he is more versed in Korean; but with body language, some patience and a lot of laughters, communication wasn't a huge problem to us.
I chose a violet-brown colour for my tresses, and Ryan gave me very pretty waves to prep me for a dinner appointment.

I was impressed by Ryan's efficiency & hair-styling skills. The entire colouring, wash & blow + curling lasted about 1.5 hours only. I walked out of the salon feeling an inch closer to looking like a K-Pop Star. LOL.
Furthermore, I enjoyed my warm cuppa and chit-chatting with the friendly staff. I have a feeling their perms will be beautiful as well! Ladies who are inspired by K-styled big waves may be in for a treat, since they are having an on-going promotion for perms & rebonding.
