Givenchy Teint Couture Cushion Review

Givenchy beauty launched its first cushion foundation in Singapore last year in December 2015. I was invited to the worldwide launch event and received the very gorgeous goodie box with courtesy of Givenchy Singapore. Consisting of Givenchy Live Irresistible Eau de parfum and Givenchy Teint Couture Cushion, the exquisite box of babies have since become awesome additions to my beauty stash.

Apologies for this seemingly late review - I was waiting for stocks of my shade to arrive Singapore. My shade is 3 Fresh Sand.

The first noticeable coolest feature has to be the embossed Givenchy emblem pinholes dispensing foundation. More product oozes out from the center of the compact, but this does not affect it effectiveness nor its application. Absolutely gorgeous when you see the inverted 'G's imprinted on the sponge. The usual Givenchy's dark, alluring, sexy black & gold colour code further enhances the appeal of this compact.

After disassembling, I realised the cushion refill is super sturdy and stands a big proportion of the whole compact. I guess that means more product? Sponge is of a higher quality than usual Korean BB cushion sponges.

MY THOUGHTS

Texture & Coverage

As evidenced in the swatches, this is a natural, satin to dewy finish with light coverage. It evens out facial complexion without looking cakey or dead matte (even after you dust a layer of matte loose powder) - quite a nice balance there. Skin feels hydrated and comfortable after application. However, coverage will not be sufficient for very blemished skin types. Please have your trusted concealer in hand.

Oxidization does happen, as with other cushions, but this one oxidizes gracefully over a day. Though the finish can be dewy for some, its oil control properties are relatively good. I didn't feel that I need to blot more than usual - I believe the hydration properties of this cushion counteracts skin's oiliness, hence my skin was tame throughout the day.

Package

This classic elegant black package should appeal to most women with refined tastes, especially the independent, busy executives who prefer a fuss-free quick application during hectic workdays. Doesn't come with extra refill. 

Note: The refills will not fit into your usual Korean cushion compacts. Size is much bigger.

Shades

It has four shades: #1 Fresh Porcelain, #2 Fresh Shell, #3 Fresh Sand and #4 Fresh Beige. My shade #3 has yellow undertones, and suits fair to medium skin NC 20-25.

Price

Retails for SGD83 for 15ml, this is definitely ranked as a luxury beauty product. Despite many other cheaper alternatives around, I personally feel this is a great treat for your skin on days you prefer lighter makeup, and not to mention it instantly alleviates your mood with its aesthetically pleasing packaging, oozing of elegant sexy vibes!
