Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet Fall 2016 Lip Tint: Review, Swatches, MOTD

Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet Fall 2016 Lip Tint Review

Matte lipsticks are all the rage in the recent two years especially in 2016. Every beauty lover you know of owns at least one matte liquid lipstick in her stash. Think Kylie Lip kits, Kat Von D liquid lipsticks and the likes.

Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet Fall 2016 Lip Tint Review

For Asians with yellow skin tones and on the constant hunt for a perfect MLBB (my lips but better) liquid lipstick, you probably didn't have much luck with Western cult brands. On the other hand, Korean lip tints usually don't quite make the cut of a MLBB matte liquid lip colour - their shades are mostly too bright.

So this is why Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet score with their latest Fall shades! They have a total of 10 shades, out of which 3 newest shades belong to the Fall 2016 collection:
  • #6 Celeb Deep Rose
  • #7 Dollish Beige Rose
  • #8 Pretty Coral

Makeup junkies have new toys to lust after every holiday season. This year, Hourglass launched its limited collection palette again; and it gets more gorgeous with the classic white marble packaging. Determined not to miss the opportunity this time round, I sought my friend's help to ship this Hourglass Surreal Light Ambient Lighting Edit Palette from the U.S in case it is not available in Singapore.

By now, if you are an avid collector of limited edition makeup, you'd have made up your mind whether you want to purchase it once this hits our local Sephora Singapore stores on 1st November 2016. If you're still not quite decided whether you want to splurge more than *SGD130, then read on!

(*As of writing, I am uncertain of the selling price of Sephora Singapore. For the record, I paid SGD130 including shipping charges. USD84.80 excl. shipping)

I won't be furnishing much product information here in my blog post - Google will be happy to show you other very informative and detailed reviews of Hourglass Surreal Light Ambient Lighting Edit Palette, mostly on U.S beauty blogs. Read more on this amazing site, Temptalia

The purpose of my blog review is to share with you how this product will look on Asian skintones like mine (MAC NC 25, yellow undertones), and how it fares on combination/acne-prone skin and under humid weather like Singapore's.

Amazing Makeup Under S$20 - Review of Palladio Velvet Matte + First Impressions of other Palladio Picks

Sponsored

Every girl deserves to be pretty; quality makeup should be made accessible to everyone.

That is my fundamental belief.

Although I am an avid collector of luxury makeup as well, I still believe the market needs more affordable and high quality makeup... so everyone can look & feel beautiful, anytime. In my quest for cheap & good makeup, I have met certain beauty brands that did not disappoint. However, these are only a handful...and sometimes even "drugstore" beauty products cost more than $25 for a single item.

PALLADIO BEAUTY SINGAPORE
Palladio is a US drugstore brand that retails at Ulta - a large chain of beauty stores in USA. Palladio is unique for infusing its cosmetics with botanical herbs and vitamins. This year 2016, Palladio Singapore officially launches at Guardian Singapore.

Their products are marked at incredible prices, not exceeding SGD20 for any one item.

I am thrilled to share some of my favourite picks from the brand, starting with their very popular...

Review of BEIGE CHUU Hard Finish Wood Pencil Eyebrow

Editorial

My August '16 BNT Beauty Box consists of the three items:

1. Kicho Sheep Oil Cream
2. Lafine Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream
3. Beige Chuu Hard Finish Eyebrow

Note: I will only be reviewing item number 2 and number 3, as I am allergic to lanolin oil. My face has a lot of breakouts lately so all the more I have to avoid it.

For starters, I will share my thoughts on the BEIGE Hard Finish Eyebrow. Much anticipation for this product because it is a dupe of Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil...

Vely Vely IM Custom Coloring Browcara Review

Editorial

BNT April '16 Box is a simple one with two products from Vely Vely. You might be wondering what brand is that... My curiosity was piqued too when I heard this brand for the first time.

Vely Vely is a Korean cosmetic brand by an online fashion store IMVELY. It's pretty much like Style Nanda/ 3CE concept, just that Vely Vely has yet to reach the level of popularity for its overseas market. I'm placing my bets on this brand that it will soon be though. And I will tell you why later.

Korea Label ver. Chongsungah 22 Brand Launch and 1st Impressions!

Sponsored

Korea's popular makeup label, ver. Chosungah 22 recently held their brand launch in Artisteaq Mandarin Gallery, Singapore. Thanks to Sasa Singapore, beauty lovers can finally access this vibrant & wacky brand without paying hefty shipping fees.

For those who haven't heard of ver. Chosungah 22 yet, this brand was founded by a very influential pioneer South's Korea makeup artist named Chosungah who has shaped Korean makeup trends into what it is today. Having worked with so many top Korean pop stars and celebrities, she still goes by her motto: "Makeup should be  simple and fun" And this spirit has seeped into her makeup line.

Had a lot of fun with my girlies (our Singapore beauty influencers) learning makeup tips through a makeup demo by the Korean makeup artists.

Yves Saint Laurent YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation: Review, Swatches and MOTD

YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation: Review
Look how elegant & luxe this packaging is! Oh the feels!
Amongst the numerous cushions I own in this couple of years, lately I have developed a penchant for Western ones more so than the Korean ones. Although we all know that Koreans are the pioneer/mastermind behind the cushion technology; but as the point of writing, many Korean cushions have limited shades, and the finish is also a hit or miss for individuals. For combination-oily skin like mine and residing in humid climate like I do, most Korean cushions pose another prevalent problem of longevity.

Following Lancôme and L'Oréal, many other big brands such as Givenchy, Dior, YSL, Biotherm also jumped onto the bandwagon - no wonder we say 2016 is a year for cushion foundations. And judging from the amazing compact technology of convenience-and-beauty-in-one, we totally understand why this hype never dies!

Review of Stylenanda 3CE Matte Lip Color

Editorial

Happy new year, lovelies! Thank you all so much for the past year's support! This year, FVT aims to do better, so please continue your kind support ok? :)

How is your first month of the year? My January kick-started with an awesome trip to the United Kingdom! Will share more about that later. This post, I want to share about another form of happiness that came in a beauty box!

BNT Beauty Box January 2016 was an exciting one for me. It consists of two big, popular cult brands which I happen to personally LOVE!

To start off, I am going to review Stylenanda 3CE latest lipstick addition

Matte Lip Color in #907 Old Dress (Vintage Mauve Pink).

Review of Stylenanda 3CE Matte Lip Color

My mom & aunt used to be licensed resellers of 3CE makeup in a local retail boutique ever since 3CE shot to fame in Korea, so I personally started using their makeup way before the brand gained huge popularity here in my country, Singapore. My family and I love them to bits and we swear by their lip products (and foundations), even long after our shop had been closed down.

Review of Stylenanda 3CE Matte Lip Color
This new formula  Matte Lip Color is currently not available in Singapore yet as it is relatively a new launch in Korea itself. However, you can make your online purchases at Style Nanda official website.

1st Impressions: Etude House Bling Me Prism Collection

I was invited to a bloggers' event at Etude House two months ago. It was really fun and thanks to Etude House Singapore's generosity, I got to play with a lot of their latest products. After using for some weeks, I decided to write about their Bling Me Prism Collection.

This cute limited edition collection is a collaboration between Etude House and Korean accessories brand, High Cheeks. "High Cheeks" suggests the action of smiling, hence you can expect this brand to exude lotsa fun, colour vibes with brightly coloured pop art designs incoporated into their products.

Bling Me Prism Collection reflects such cute, playful & quirky graphics on their packaging. The collection consists of Bling Me Prism Color in Liquid Lips, Bling Me Prism Nails and their new liquid eyeshadow - Bling Me Prism Eyes!

Bling Me Prism Color in Liquid Lips: Thoughts & Swatches

Similiar concept like its predecessor Etude House in Liquid Lips, this range of lippies is also a hybrid of lipstick and lip gloss. The only difference is the texture and the finish. This range has a water-sliding texture that feels lightweight and produces a glowy finish. The best part is the colour doesn't accidentally stick to your front tooth, unlike the previous edition which did so to me. (Horrors!)

Personal thoughts: I really enjoy using these babies. Not just because of the nice texture, but also the vibrant colours simply brighten one's face in a single pop. After a day, colour settles onto the lips with a beautiful, subtle stain that makes your lips look naturally tinted and pouty! Love it!

Bling Me Prism Eyes: Thoughts & Swatches

The Bling me Prism Eyes is a water-based eye colour that is used like an eyeshadow. It has an applicator which makes application easy-peasy, without smudging! The hologram pigment and crystal pearl add a touch of sparkle to the eyes for a bling effect.

Personal thoughts: Product glides on and dries rather quickly, so if you are going to use your fingers to blend it out a little for a softer look, I suggest you do so quickly... OR a better alternative is to utilise a good eyeshadow blending brush. Using fingers can get kinda messy and you may end up having undefined, cloudy eyeshadow on your lids . It takes a bit of practise to get it right, but when you do, the colours are pretty and they really make your eyes stand out.

Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo: Thoughts, Photos, Swatches, Video

Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo

Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo has been a recent favourite of the Instagram beauty community. Since its availability in Singapore in August '15, stocks were snapped up fast. I got mine couple of months ago but has only gotten round to writing about it now. (I apologise for the delay, I was really tied up back in September & October!)

Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo

This baby consists of two shades :

Moodlight (Daylight) - a pale whitish gold with a luminous sheen. This colour goes on sheer & natural, and is buildable to a metallic cream sheen. It wears well on most skin tones, creating a natural dimension to facial features without the usual harshness of a white highlighter. As the name subtly suggests, wearing this during the day is a breeze.

Moodlight (Candlelight) - a soft, rose gold with a metallic sheen. It looks pinker in the pan than it really is when applied. On my warm skin tone, it reflects more of a brownish beige tone. Still natural-looking, but significantly more obvious as compared to Daylight. I personally use this on my eyelids more than any other part of my face. I get more generous with application during the night time with this shade though.

Unboxing this product was a thrill, as with unboxing any one of Tom Ford makeup items. From the exterior paper box, the velvet pouch to the casing, the high-quality feel of each segment of this unboxing experience is unparallel to any other brands. (My only complaint is why haven't they have their own TOM FORD paper bag for their cosmetics? Or is it just Singapore?)

This Tom Ford Moodlight Skin Illuminating Powder Duo also holds a decent amount of product that you know you will probably take three lifetimes to finish! The powder is silky fine and is well-pressed so it doesn't flake off and mess up your compact. Armed with a mirror and NO brushes, you will need to prepare a good-quality highlighter brush before you dip into this "pot of gold".

Here's how I use TF Illuminating powder to strobe/highlight my face. Click on the 1 minute long video:

Hope you enjoy this post (especially the video! Haha!) as much as I did creating it. It's my first time doing a video so it looks super amateur but I am hoping to get better at this with time, and posting more on Youtube in future!

Let me know how you think in the box below! Alternatively, if you like this post, you can just give me a thumbs-up on the video itself on Youtube. Thank you lovelies!!
